Your File:

Psychologists are legally required to maintain a file containing data necessary to provide good care.

These files must be kept for fifteen years.

Your Rights:

As a client, you have the right to access or obtain a copy of the information recorded in your file. If you find any factual inaccuracies in the file, you can ask me to correct or supplement this information. If you disagree with the information included in the file, you can request that your own statement (your opinion) be added to the file.

You also have the right to request the destruction of (parts of) your file. In principle, I will comply with your requests.

Only if the interests of others, such as your partner or children, would be harmed, might your request be partially or fully rejected.

Confidentiality:

As a psychologist, I have a duty of confidentiality. This means that I only discuss your case with others if I have your explicit consent. Only in exceptional cases does the law grant me the right to provide information without your consent. In such cases, I generally contact you first to discuss this provision of communication.
